Another approach involves the idea that negative information has to be removed from your report while it is being challenged; scammers claim by challenging everything, they can get you temporarily clean report. Nearly impossible to accomplish in the first place, nearly impossible to defend later, and just a terrible idea all around, really. Rule No. 2 If something is inaccurate on your credit report, get it removed. The federal Fair Trade Commission has a sample letter you can use, and be sure to send your letter by certified mail.
